"CARBON CHALLENGE"

On the 5th of June ,2010, our school had specially invited a few officers from the BP Chemical Organisation to come to SJK(C) Kong Min to give a talk on Carbon Challenge . The aim of the talk was to develop the students’ awareness about Carbon and its implication towards our environment. The talk was conducted by Puan Raja Tatina Raja Musa. About forty over pupils turned up for the activity .The two-hour session started at 8.30 a.m and ended at 10.30 a.m. It was an interesting and beneficial talk that would open the pupils’ eyes. During the session, the pupils were divided into several groups. Each of the groups had to present the task provided by the organizers. Each group was assisted by a volunteer from the BP Chemical Officers. We were truly overwhelmed and impressed by the commitment shown by the BP Chemical Organisation. We hereby would like to express our heartiest gratitude to them. It is hoped that the pupils were able to understand the effective ways to reduce carbon footprint so that everyone could preserve environment and lead a healthier life...

Team Building

Today (June 2nd 2010), my teammates (Wong Xue Yan, Adeline Tan May Lynn, Katherine Chuah Siew Yin, Julian Ng Chong Sheng &Tan Weng Chin) & I (Wong Rae Hann) in the presence of our teacher-in-charge, Mr. Ong Ir Win; had a meeting in our school. I am delighted to be selected as leader and  representative of the school in this programme organised by BP Chemicals to raise the awareness on climate change and environmental issues. At the same time, prompting our minds to think about ways we can help to prevent global warming & reduce our carbon footprints through this programme called “BP Myscience”.

First Briefing~

On 3rd of June, we had a meeting with our teachers to discuss ways to reduce  carbon footprint. The  teachers explained  clearly and encouraged each of us to search for further information from the internet. With the information, we put on our thinking caps and successfully came up with two mind maps...
